When you put our works into perspective…

I got to spend some time with this lovely yesterday in her city.

We strolled around the newly refurbished grounds beneath the Arch…

The Gateway to the West, they call it.

And it’s impressive.

Nearby is the beautiful Old Cathedral…

www.laurareimer.net

the oldest building in St. Louis and is the first church built west of the Mississippi…

according to the nice park ranger that felt I needed to be informed of its history.

Despite my natural curiosity and penchant for fact-checking….I am just taking his word for it.

He was so excited to impart his extensive knowledge, and…since he promised to not ticket us if we left our cars in the “Cathedral ONLY parking lot” for our adventure over to the Arch…I would strongly hesitate to prove him wrong.

We rounded out our day eating lunch underneath the tall buildings with a blend of old and new architecture as cars and people rushed to and fro around us.

We stopped for coffee after lunch…

of course…

because hey…it’s important to stay caffeinated in summer too.

I had an unimaginative cup of brewed coffee and found out there are all kinds of new-fangled ways to order coffee because the times they are a’changing…all the time.

But you know…as I looked back over the day and the amazing architecture and feats of engineering and creative ways humanity has attempted to make its mark across generations…

I have to marvel at the handiwork of eternity.

From this delicate beauty…

to this awesome display spread across the prairie …

God is just is a hard act to follow.

We are simply imitators of His creativity.

And while we can certainly appreciate the handiwork and talents of our fellow men and women as we journey along this life,

we were only meant to worship One <3

He is the Godhead…Three in One…Father, Son and Spirit <3

Praise Him…

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.

Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.

Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.

Psalm 19: 1-4
