Wednesday <3
Wednesday. Randoms. Let’s go…
Random #1
I was with Caroline yesterday for a restroom trek.
After she washed her hands and got them thoroughly dry with several sheets of paper towel, she waved her hand one more time to release the next section out of the automated machine.
I came close to telling her I thought she had used enough paper for the process, but thankfully bit my tongue.
As the sheet unfurled completely, she turned to me and explained that she likes to make sure there is a sheet ready for the next person.
I love her.

I got a new phone and for a short time I thought Siri sounded a little nicer. She seemed more upbeat when she said “Mmmhuhm” when I called her name.
But she is as saucy as ever.
When I give the voice command to text someone while driving, she likes to switch it up and use Facebook messenger. I never use messenger if I can avoid it. I feel certain she knows this.
Also she plays dumb when I ask directions to someplace. She offers a website for something that doesn’t even remotely sound like my destination request.
She also interprets Caroline’s name as Carol or Carolyn and Joel is just plain Joe.
The only saving grace is hearing the two of them chatting in the back seat when I am voice texting and calling each other Joe and Carol for a few blocks.
Jokes on you Siri.
Random #3
We have a gizmo in the store where I work that we can talk to and ask to play music.
Her name is Alexa.
Sometimes I call her Siri.
She doesn’t answer.
I wonder if they are sisters.

I heard someone reference a person recently as having dirty blonde hair and I just feel like we could come with a better name for that color.
Of course I have googled this and discovered another name used is “dishwater blonde”. Also not very uplifting.
The descriptor for it is a medium to darker blonde with wheat colors. I think we can work with that.
How about wheat blonde?
Or just medium blonde?
Or we could get really fancy and combine it to “medium blonde with wheat undertones”?
Stay tuned.

There are so many posts on 9/11 today and it matters.
So many lives were lost. So many first responders rushed in like the troops swarming the beaches of Normandy. With no thought for their own peril, they went in to burning and collapsing buildings to save whoever they could.
Heroes rose up on airplanes that had become weapons and they knew they were going to die, but they tried to save the lives of others on the ground.
The best of us was seen that day.
Let’s remember and honor them by attempting to be better than we sometimes act.
Every day.
