So thankful <3
Shout out to the educators today.
We went to see our favorite orchestra teacher lead her students in their spring concert last night.
It was wonderful to see the improvement in both their behavior while seated for the other grades to play, as well as their ability to play together. They have grown and matured well this year.
One 8th grade student performed a solo she has been working on for a year. A difficult piece that she played beautifully. We could appreciate the hours of practice she had put in and loved seeing her and other students asking Sarah for a picture together after the concert.
Sarah also added a mixed grade ensemble. These students volunteered to practice on their own and met only four times yet sounded amazing. It was a great reminder how individual practice is a must for anyone playing an instrument.
When the eighth grade orchestra took the stage, Sarah handed the microphone over to three of her students to introduce the selections chosen for their grade. The girls she had speak handled themselves so professionally. Russ and I loved that she gave them this opportunity and they were beaming.
Our hearts were bursting to see how this group has responded to the love and care of our daughter this year, as well as her maturing into a leader for these young musicians.
But I do have to admit that while she looked very much the accomplished teacher as she led each grade in their music, I may have had a superimposed image of a little girl in a white blouse and plaid skirt, executing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Mississippi Hot Dog with joy and precision.
So thankful to still be cheering her on <3
