So nice when Monday is a sunny and fun day <3
First off, we are celebrating the birthday of our Sarah today.
Still miss the days when we could be together for birthdays, but carrying her in our hearts with a happy twinge to all we do today.
Second I want to express to you, on behalf of my dear friend, that her daughter-in-law is home safely and recovering from the procedure. She is most appreciative of your prayers <3
And third, I wanted to share the last part of the David song from The Message.
I enjoyed hashing out 21-25 with you all last week.
It helped to focus on a passage and really meditate on it as I thought about how to apply it and what to share with you.
Suddenly, God, Your light floods my path. God drives out the darkness.
I smash the bands of marauders, I vault the high fences.
What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth.
Every God-direction is road-tested.
Everyone who runs toward Him makes it.
2 Samuel 22:29-31
The Message by Eugene Peterson
Wow…even as I type it out again, I am struck with so many thoughts to explore.
We are going to pull up to the side of the road and sit with this portion, if you don’t mind.
There is much to think about.
But for today, the focus on my heart is the one about every God-direction being “road-tested”.
Yesterday, the sermon at our church was based on a passage in 1 John, but it speaks to this.
Pastor Brian talked about how experience in life has taught him that doing things God’s way just works better.
He gave some excellent examples, and I am going to urge you to go listen to it. You can find it at https://www.firstdecatur.org/messages/because-love/ under sermons: Because Love April 25, 2021 (and if you are early to the post, it may not be up until later today or tomorrow, but there is always the church online option…thank you YouTube.)
Blessings friends and I shall see you all tomorrow <3
