Randoms for Wednesday <3
Happy Wednesday….here are the randoms for this week.
Random #1
I have spent a lot of time this week dealing with customer service departments.
I haven’t lost my cool.
This is a personal victory.
Random #2
One of those involved signing up for added security thanks to the big breach by AT&T recently.
As a result, I got a peep into all the ways my email and phone number have been compromised over the past few years.
That was unpleasant.
Random #3
As if navigating life on the daily isn’t enough, we have these simmering pots on back burners. Corporate handling of our business affairs, the government, insurance companies and people who spend their time and energy planning how to ruin other people’s lives are hovering off in the distance.
All of this puts a whole new level of meaning to casting your burdens on the Lord because He cares for us.
It also enhances our understanding of the need to get outside and take walks, stay in touch with your people, find ways to be creative, read, rest, eat right and drink water.
Random #4
I find that all of the first three randoms make it difficult for me to focus on tasks at hand that need to be done.
Yet the irony is, if I can make myself start on the laundry, cleaning, straightening, tending of our home, etc…just START….I find renewed energy.
But it is always a struggle to get going.
Which is why lists are life around here.
Starting a list is the first step for me. Then taking one item at a time, often setting a timer for 20 minutes with the promise of either finishing or moving on to the next one is my secret spice to not curling up in a chair and taking a nap.
Random #5
I mentioned doing something creative up in #3.
I can’t stress enough to you the value of this.
Whether it is baking, drawing, crafting, arranging, photographing, writing…there is a special firing in the brain when we stop and create something.
And we can add to that list, praise and singing and prayer. These are a spiritually creative space where we move the mind and heart above the task at hand and creatively worship our God.
I hope you will take time today (I gave you space with short randoms…heehee) to creatively talk with God and tell Him your heart and your love for Him.
Blessings
