Mr. Spontaneous strikes again <3

Well just when I was bemoaning the way summer was slipping past and the weather has sided with me by being particularly gloomy and cloudy, Russ pulls one of his spontaneous moments out of his fishing hat and takes us all to a nearby state park on Tuesday with poles and tackle boxes in hand. 

Unbeknownst to any of us, he had planned to also look into renting a kayak. 

So before you could say, “Maybe we should have brought some towels,” Team Papi was suiting the crew up in life jackets and thus began an hour of adventure on the lake. 

The kids did awesome.

Took to it like ducks on water.

Meanwhile…

I held all the valuables on shore…

And it was …

a Best. Day. Ever. Once again
