Just a musing <3
Happy Friday!
The other day it was warm and I was able to take my first longer walk of the year. A clear blue sky offered the perfect tableau for planes passing over the prairie. Their jet streams kept crossing. Russ likes to send me photos of crosses in the sky so I smiled thinking of him. I was listening to a good sermon on being salt in the world which meant I couldn’t snap photos for him.
After my walk, I was pondering the sermon and the sky and the crosses and my mind tumbled onto airplanes. I thought of how the wings help it fly and land, keep it balanced and going in the right direction or veering when necessary.
Both wings are needed. You can’t have just the right tor the left. And the larger parts closer to the plane are the part that balance it all. I’m thinking you could still land the plane without the far off tips. Maybe so, maybe not.
But the main part of the plane is what they are working for. The big old, huge, lumbering middle section that holds the people and their things, the pilots that are running the controls and making it work, the stewards who are caring for everyone is the most where the value is.
Thus we can see that’s the purpose of the wings. To get the really important part of the plane safely to where it needs to be.
We have a lot of pushing and pulling, tugging and posturing with the wings of government and the far left and far right and everything back to the main body.
They are necessary to balance each other, but they are working for the people. So for me, I plan to focus on the people in the seats around me and what I can do to make their journey more comfortable. Take it as you will. Those were my thoughts.
Have a happy weekend!
Love your people well and do not grow weary in doing right <3
