Hey you, you are kind of a big deal, along with the rest of the other big deals <3
Happy Friday!
Recently I was in a meeting where we had been charged to read through a lengthy packet of revised policy guidelines. The task was to make sure everything looked in order or needed any kind of clarity or correction.
I am a slow reader with possible ADHD tendencies and I have to confess I made what is my best effort to read through and trusted others with better eyes to catch anything that was in need of change. While there was one issue that I felt very passionate about, the rest read much like the script for Charlie Brown’s teacher…Muh mum muh. Muh mum. Muh mum muh muh mum.
It seemed that overall the others around the table were like me; however, one of the board members was like a hound on the hunt. She had marked numerous typos and wording issues and caught where minute differences occurred from the old copy to the revised copy, questioning if it was okay to omit, add or edit.
In a bit of embarrassment she admitted she had worked as a copy editor. We assured her we took absolutely no offense. God bless her and carry on with what she had found.
Her gifts were needed and we were all grateful for them.
That is the way with our giftings and talents, so often.
We think little of what God has decided would be our niche and admire that of others, wishing we were not the way we are and were more like that one over there.
But all are needed.
God is so big, He spreads all of who He is amongst all of us. And together we work in unity to accomplish big things.
Praise Him for pouring Himself into us. We can get out there and do the things assigned to us and cheer on the others around us. It is a glorious celebration of what God is working out as we work together.
I told you I would remind you to check back and listen to Adam’s wonderful sermon last Sunday. Here it is. https://www.firstdecatur.org/messages/this-changes-everything/
Have a blessed weekend and a very happy St. Patricks Day.
Here’s an Irish Blessing that hangs on our door and I speak over you today:
May your troubles be less,
Your blessings be more,
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door!
