Countdown to Christmas 2024….Day 3
Well, my friends, it is Day 3 of the Countdown and I am pressed for time.
Imagine that.
So I am leaving you with a snippet of wisdom gleaned from our middle child.
Sarah and I were shopping one day and she saw something she really liked. I asked her if I could buy it for her.
All the moms know how this is a thing with us, right?
She declined and said that she was fine to admire it, but not have it.
I use this frequently in my life.
Especially during this holiday season.
We have our house decorated to the degree I am comfortable with. Festive, but not overwhelming to put back away.
It has received the energy I have and it is making me feel like we are suitably transformed for the season and that is good enough.
So when I enjoy a visit to Instagram and I see other decor, I do not envy or compare.
I say…that is nice and I can appreciate it without having it.
Same for the recipes I won’t have time to make, the company that won’t grace our decked halls, the presents that will be wrapped in whatever paper we have stashed in the supplies and the cookie trays that absolutely will not happen.
I will appreciate what others have done and I will be content to not need it for myself.
Blessings friends…there is a peace that attends wisdom <3
