A special treat for you…<3
Well, I was trying to figure how I was going to pull off a post since I will be leaving home early tomorrow and be gone most of the day. This afternoon I received an email from my husband, who must have had a visit from his muse because he put together another great guest post. He also snapped the picture for this post when we were out and about today.
Enjoy <3

Hello to each of you that read Laura’s blog. I offered to give her a break for one day and she said she was willing to let me try and fill her shoes. Not an easy task for such a talented writer but here goes…
I like her periodic “random”offerings about life and feel like God has given me some recent opportunities to share some observations with you.
Random #1
For the guys out there, I had a recent trip to Hobby Lobby with my wife who said she needed just a couple of things. I was wandering meaninglessly nearby her when she approached me with her arms full of items that were extremely awkward to carry. I said to her, “Do you think you should get a cart?” She quickly said that sounded like a good idea and I saw the look that said I should do this as fast as possible. I retrieved a cart and we suddenly had 9 different items in the cart.
She also talks to herself during the trip through the store. I asked her about this character trait and she said she thought I was listening. This prompted another look of disgust. Note to self: Listen to your wife when she is in Hobby Lobby.
(Or at least pretend to)

Another bonding experience with my wife was to a Pilates class at our local YMCA. Laura has been attending for several weeks and I am proud of her for doing this. The class was well attended and will hopefully help my sore lower back. Time will tell.
I wasn’t the oldest person in the class and I wasn’t the youngest although the average age is likely my peer group and higher. God showed to me how inflexible I am both physically and mentally. He always provides a learning for me to enjoy , especially as I try to bend my legs at angles when they really aren’t designed to do such a thing!

I have started substitute teaching at a local private school. I have always had an interest in teaching and admired those that are willing to work with young people and show an interest in their success.
My initial interest was at the elementary age group (for the fear of having to interact with someone similar to my height). I can now say that I have done both elementary age (which was good) and was asked to help in junior and Senior high classes also.
This also went well and the students were pleasant. It was an interesting setting for me and one that I hope occurs again in the future. Our young people need someone to listen to them at their level and just be there.
It has heightened my awareness as to the need to be in prayer for young people more than ever. The pressures that they face are immense and intense.
For those of you that pray for a young person or persons, thank you!
For those that would like to have a student to pray for, Laura and/or I can give you a name and their need. Being a Prayer Warrior is a great way to connect with young people. They dont even have to know that you are praying for them !!

November has been a month of fasting for me.
Not from food but from some things in my life that are not life -essential. Sometimes it is easy for junk to get into your life and we need to be intentional about asking God for forgiveness.
I have been reminded throughout the month about temptation, but with God’s help, he shows me who is in control and I hope to continue to do better in areas of weakness.
Let us all be reminded of this wonderful season of Christmas and be supportive of those around us.
Thank you for reading today.
I pray a blessing over each of you that are regular readers of Journey Onward.
