Because most lessons are still caught not taught…

Spent yesterday with this crew…

Would so LOVE to know what Joel is thinking…but I have some ideas….

Anyhoo…

Rachel had a field trip with Graham, so I spent the morning watching the two little guys.

And it was entertaining, let me tell you.

Emmett had a very full morning.

He had to wash his car and then load up the baby…

because it was shopping day….

Apparently he needed to buy “SO MANY THIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGSSSSS!!!!!”

Which he said often and with great joy….

as he took the time to scan each and every item…

Pay with his credit card…

(they haven’t updated to the chip reader yet….)

and then 

prepare healthy, nutritious meals for his family.

And while the food was plastic…we had to pray real prayers before we could pretend eat.

No one has ever taught Emmett how to scan groceries…swipe a credit card…make a meal…or pray…

He learned it by watching these things done the same way…

day after day..

Some long and messy days that seemed to spiral downward from sunrise to sunset…

Some marvelous days that flew by too fast with a string of sweet memory-building moments…

Most a mixture of both.

And little eyes that watch the thread of faith woven into all of it.

Now, more than ever, let’s live out our daily lives consistently…genuinely….sincerely as we…
