Wednesday Randoms <3

It’s a blustery day, Pooh.

The winds have been unusually vigorous this year and I am not a fan of it.

I just wrote a test for the Brit Lit class over the first two weeks of material and so it seems a good day for Randoms.

Random #1

I read this on an instagram post and gave it a try.

If you know you should eat unflavored Greek Yogurt for the protein without the additives and sugar but also gag at the thought of it….try adding two squirts of canned whipped cream.

Total game changer.

There is minimal sugar in the whipped cream, 15 calories for two tablespoons so double up and you are still good to go.

Random #2

Speaking of breakfast.

After eating breakfast in both Paris and Normandy, I love having a slice of sour dough with a small bit of jam and adding a cheese, egg slices or meat.

Or all of the above.

Also, as odd as it sounds, I discovered that some sliced cucumber is just the nicest addition to this.

Add cafe and voila!

All that is missing is croissants and baguettes.

One thing about reaching the age I have reached is a sense of peace that attends knowing the difference between wanting to be able to do something and just appreciating someone else being able to do it.

For example, I love learning new ways to art journal. I enjoy taking time to work on lettering and embellishing.

However; there are some things l enjoy seeing others do but have no desire to pursue the discipline of learning.

One is coloring.

You may laugh, but there really is an art to coloring and shading using pencils.

I was remembering fondly this morning how much I loved seeing the results of an artsy friend of mine as she studied and developed a skill with colored pencils. I even enjoyed the classes she taught us and attempting some of it myself.

However; I have done nothing further and it was with a sense of relief this morning that I accepted that I will not be having to practice and learn that one.

I can just bask in the work of others and practice the disciplines that have caught my attention.

It is definitely enough to keep me busy for a long stretch.

Our Jane magnolia is doing its thing.

I am fervently praying spring weather is kind to it and we can enjoy these blossoms for a few weeks.

Random #5

This kid.

He walked into the kitchen to fix his water bottle for baseball and it was like having another adult to maneuver around in the kitchen.

Water bottle in hand, he headed out to the garage as his Lola wiped tears from her eyes trying to understand where time has gone.

In walks Emmett to fix his water bottle and immediately he asks me if I am okay.

I am, I tell him. I just can’t believe how big everyone is getting.

Over he comes and wraps his arms around me.

Well, that opened the flood gates.

So I stood there hugging this one while he still resides under my chin and I thanked God for the blessing of it all.
