Countdown to Christmas 2024…Day 21

I have an announcement that I think will make us all feel better. 

Drum roll, please.

I stuffed the stockings and everyone is pretty much even. 

I can sense the applause. Thank you. 

Only the chief elf in any Christmas production understands the relief with which I went to sleep last night. 

So for today I just thought it would be fun to say some thank you’s. 

Like…thank you to all the people who braved the cold to hang lights. Your efforts brighten the dark that sets in so very early this time of year. It also dispels the the darkness of our times. You are a blessing. 

Thank you to those who sent us cards and photos. We love seeing your families. 

Thank you to those who don’t send cards, but do other sweet things your way to make our lives better now and throughout the year. 

Thank you to the customers in stores who maintained good attitudes and a sense of humor in the line. 

Thank you to the associates who did likewise. 

Thank you to the clever people who put those funny holiday memes on Instagram and Facebook and make me laugh at myself and feel seen. 

Thank you to the people who celebrate Christmas well. 

Thank you for those who are aware of the mix of emotions and aren’t afraid to be both happy and sad. 

Thank you for the ones who delight in surprises. You make all of life better on planet earth. 

Thank you for the cookie bakers, the ones who saw something with a squirrel on it to make me laugh and the people who speak a word of encouragement at just the right time. 

You are the G.O.A.T.s to the rest of us…be blessed.
