Countdown to Christmas 2024…Day 20
I am so sad and frustrated.
Something I ordered early on for one of the grands was one of my best ideas. I only have a few really good ideas for gifts this year and this one is spiraling downward rapidly.
It was his big gift and one I noticed and thought about and asked his mom to affirm back in the fall and now it is sitting in some Amazon warehouse on delayed shipping. In fairness, I did attempt to purchase locally, but no one had it.
The really frustrating part is that two days ago I had received notice it would be arriving on my porch that evening by 10 pm.
It didn’t and now it most likely won’t arrive by Christmas.
This morning, I found a different company selling the same thing. It looked like by ordering this morning, it would arrive a day or two after Christmas. I placed the order, entered the card number, corrected the shipping address so that it would arrive at his home quicker and hit complete.
And then I got an email addressed to HIM saying the order would be processed and sent to my address soon.
Yes.
Somehow I managed to enter his name and address for billing and mine for receiving.
Not sure what the credit card company will do…another delay in this gift.
And yet, I know that in the grand scheme of things, this is really insignificant.
We have some friends facing a parent’s worse nightmare today.
The original order is delayed, most likely because some people who work hard are tired of a big company earning millions and not taking care of their employees.
And so this is Christmas…all the junk of humanity on the daily was entered into by God Himself.
I am reminded of the lines I love so much in the song “Welcome to our World”….
So wrap our injured flesh around you,
Breathe our air and walk our sod.
Rob our sin and make us holy,
Perfect Son of God.*
Wherever you are today in the highs and lows of life on planet earth, a soggy eyed typer of words is lifting a prayer for you as she hits “oost”.
Hugs, friends, this too shall pass <3
